Years ago, I was able to talk to a Vietnam veteran about the Lord at my home. The man had come to my house mistakenly looking for the previous owner, who was an old friend of his. For the next two hours the Scriptures were opened to him and he was shown the way of salvation according to the Bible. Unfortunately the man believed himself to be too wicked to be saved.

When it comes to religion and the opinions of man, you will find conflict, contradiction, and confusion. When it comes to the Bible, you will find consistency, clarity, and confidence. It should be obvious which way we aught to go, whether it be the way of man or the way of the Bible, but sin has done a tremendous job, blinding the majority of Earth’s population.

I have discussed the subject of salvation and eternal life with many people over the years and have asked them this question, “Are you saved?” Many that I ask will respond with a “Yes”. What I have found, however, is that many have various opinions and ideas of what “saved” means.
