About Dave Karpenko
This sinner was saved at the age of 14 back in July of 1978, as a result of my friend and neighbor inviting my family to visit their church, First Bible Baptist Church of Rochester, NY. After graduating from Northstar Christian Academy, I enlisted in the Navy for a 6 year tour to be trained as a Reactor Operator of which I served 4 years aboard the USS Archerfish, a fast attack submarine out of Groton, CT.
In 1983 I married my wife, Pam, and she faithfully endured the frequent departures and long separations that come with Navy life, until my enlistment was over in 1988. Going back to First Bible in Rochester, we began to serve the Lord with the youth, until the Lord directed us back to New England. For 15 years I was employed by the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant in Seabrook, NH and also served our Lord through the ministry of Fair Haven Baptist Church under Pastor Thomas Bard.
Those 15 years were used by the Lord to prepare this family for His purpose. They were fruitful years as we grew and grew and grew, but they were also years of testing as our oldest son, Greg, died an accidental death at the age of 11. Tragic as this was, the Lord ministered and prepared this family to serve Him in a unique way and in April of 2004, after leaving my job and selling our home, we hit the road and never looked back. Since then, we have been coast to coast in our old bus serving wherever the Lord would have us to go. We now home base out of True Vine Baptist Church in Glendale, AZ under Pastor Ed Ware.
