The Lord has altered our course! After over 6 years of road life, the door has been opened for this family ministry to drop anchor in Corry, PA. Bible Believers Baptist Church has been without a Pastor since April and Wednesday, September 1st, I was voted unanimously as their Pastor.
I was made aware of the situation in Corry, since May, while at the Jubilee in Mt Airy, NC. Conversations about the church brought my name up as a potential with both Evangelist Harold Leake and Evangelist Cliff Taylor. I called and inquired about the church and arranged a meeting the last week of August. They wanted me there sooner, but my schedule was full until then. From that time until we reached Corry, I had prayed about it, but was rather neutral about it. The Lord's direction was what I wanted and I would be happy either way; stay on the road or take the church. It was evident when we finally arrived and met with the church that this was the Lord's will for us. The family was very excited and eager to dive right in. As for me, I faced this new venture with trepidation. This would be very different and my level of responsibility and accountability was reaching new heights. I do and have always felt inadequate, but I know my God shall supply! By His grace, we will!
The church property is unique in that it will provide enough living space even for a family my size to live rent and mortgage free for the time being. This will be a tremendous blessing as the church will not be able to support me full time for the present. The kind folks here have greatly helped us aquire some necessary items such as beds and furniture. Clothing and food have also been given. Simply put, we are ready to serve and be used of God to revive this work and make a difference with what time the Lord has given us.
As I have contacted many regarding our change of status, several have communicated their mixed emotions: glad for our new direction, but sad that our travels are over. We will miss many folks greatly, especially the dear brethren in Arizona. True Vine Baptist Church was a group of saints that God knew we needed. They gave us the support that kept us going even under some very difficult times. Pastor Ware and his wife Susan never hesitated to be a help to us. We will certainly miss them, their hospitality, and their gracious care for us. Thank you True Vine Baptist Church, you were and are a blessing to this family.
As for us here, well, we haven't had to concern ourselves with winter weather since we hit the road. Now we are in one of the severest snow belts in the country with our location just 30 minutes from Lake Erie. The kids are excited! We are starting from ground zero when it comes to winter clothing, snow gear, etc. Things are going well, schooling has begun, and we are settling in just fine. Certainly anything beyond the cramped living conditions of the bus is very much appreciated. Keep us in prayer and give us a visit when you get a chance. God bless and God speed!
